      DPU-OS Tailoring Guide

This section describes how to use imageTailor to obtain the DPU-OS installation image based on the dpuos configuration file of the dpu-utilities repository. The procedure is as follows.

Preparing imageTailor and Required RPM Packages

Install the imageTailor tool and prepare the RPM packages required for tailoring. For details, see the imageTailor User Guide.

You can use the installation image provided by openEuler as the RPM package source for image tailoring. openEuler-22.03-LTS-everything-debug-aarch64-dvd.iso have a complete collection of RPM packages but the image is large in size. You can use the RPM packages in openEuler-22.03-LTS-aarch64-dvd.iso and install-scripts.noarch.

You can obtain install-scripts.noarch from the everything package or download it using yum.

      yum install -y --downloadonly --downloaddir=./ install-scripts

      Copying DPU-OS Configuration Files

The imageTailor tool is installed in the /opt/imageTailor directory by default. Run the following command to copy the DPU-OS configuration files to the corresponding directories (select the directories of the target architecture): Currently, the DPU-OS tailoring configuration library supports the x86_64 and AArch64 architectures.

      cp -rf custom/cfg_dpuos /opt/imageTailor/custom
      cp -rf kiwi/minios/cfg_dpuos /opt/imageTailor/kiwi/minios/cfg_dpuos

      Modifying Other Configuration Files

      • Add the dpuos configuration to the kiwi/eulerkiwi/product.conf file.
      dpuos PANGEA EMBEDDED DISK GRUB2 install_mode=install install_media=CD install_repo=CD selinux=0

      • Add the dpuos configuration to the kiwi/eulerkiwi/minios.conf file.
      dpuos kiwi/minios/cfg_dpuos yes

      • Add the dpuos configuration to the repos/RepositoryRule.conf file.
      dpuos 1 rpm-dir euler_base

      Setting a Password

Go to the subdirectories of /opt/imageTailor and change the passwords in the following files:

      • custom/cfg_dpuos/usr_file/etc/default/grub

      • custom/cfg_dpuos/rpm.conf

      • kiwi/minios/cfg_dpuos/rpm.conf

For details about how to generate and modify password, see Configuring Initial Passwords in the openEuler imageTailor User Guide.

      Running the Tailoring Command

Run the following command to tailor the ISO file. The tailored ISO file is stored in the /opt/imageTailor/result directory.

      cd /opt/imageTailor
      ./mkdliso -p dpuos -c custom/cfg_dpuos --sec --minios force
