      Verification and Deployment

After the DPU-OS image is created, you can install and deploy DPU-OS for verification. Currently, the DPU hardware is not mature enough. Therefore, you can use VirtualBox to start a VM for deployment and verification.

      Deploying DPU-OS on VirtualBox

This section describes how to install and deploy DPU-OS on VirtualBox.

      Verification Preparation

Before deploying DPU-OS, make the following preparations:

      • Obtain the DPU-OS ISO.
      • Prepare a host machine with VirtualBox installed.

      Initial Installation and Startup

      Creating a VM

      Creating a VM on VirtualBox.

      • Select the VM configuration. Two CPUs and at least 4 GB memory are recommended.

      • Create a VM disk. At least 60 GB is recommended.

      • In the system extended attributes, enable EFI.

      • In the storage settings, select the local DPU-OS ISO file as the CD-ROM file.

      • Other network or display settings can be custom.

      Starting the VM

Start the created VM and select Install from ISO to install DPU-OS. After DPU-OS is automatically installed, the VM restarts.

Select Boot From Local Disk to boot into DPU-OS. The password is the one specified when the DPU-OS image is created.

After the preceding steps are performed, the local deployment of the DPU-OS is verified.
